40th Anniversary
This year our school celebrates 40 years of education to the Catholic Community in the Penwortham area within the Archdiocese of Liverpool.
All Hallows opened in September 1975 to 183 pupils and 12 teachers. 40 years later we opened on 1 September 2015 to 900 pupils and around 60 teaching staff. How times have changed.
During the course of this year various activities will take place to celebrate this important milestone in our history and we will keep people informed of them via this website.
Whole School Photo
To celebrate 40 years as a school we decided to have a Whole School Photograph taken for the first time for many years. When All Hallows opened in 1975 a photograph was taken of all staff and pupils and there were under 200 people on that photograph. Earlier this week Tempest Photographers, who visit us annually to take photos of Year 7 and Year 11 pupils, set up a stage on the All Weather Pitch to take a photograph of around 1,000 people, comprising 900 pupils and 100 adults who work at our school. It was a huge organisational challenge, but something to which pupils responded really well.
Tempest complimented us on several occasions about the behaviour of our pupils and we thank all of them for the way in which they responded. As you can see from the photos it took quite some time for everyone to get together, but the net result will be sent to parents so that you will have the opportunity to purchase this one-off memento of our school. The Whole School Photo certainly got the celebration of the year off to a brilliant start.
Whole School Assembly
At the start of September every year we gather together as a whole school to begin the school year. This year was no exception but once again the theme was the 40 years celebration. It was also a chance for our community to welcome newcomers. As well as 184 pupils we welcome various members of staff who are new to our school. So a special welcome to our new Chaplain, Dan, to Mr Briscoe, Head of Maths, Mr Abberley in Science, Mr Boesley and Mrs Moir in English and Miss Haworth who is covering for Mrs Bolton in RE. We hope they will all have a really enjoyable year with us.
