Christmas Hampers
Over the last ten years there has been a magical Christmas elf that has worked tirelessly to make Christmas a better time for others. The lovely elf’s name is Sue Haydock.
From October half-term each year, she has collected donations from the staff in order to create hampers and give monetary donations to several charities. As the years have progressed, the collection has grown in order to provide a large hamper of treats for the Senior Citizen’s Party and a hamper for the school’s Christmas Raffle. Charities she has helped to support include Nugent Care. Last year, the money raised helped to provide electrical items and pots and pans to furnish a flat. This year, as well as the hampers, 25 Hope bags, created by Megan Holmes in Year 8, have been purchased as well as a sizeable donation being made to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, our advent charity.
The school would like to say thank you to the staff for their contributions, but most of all a massive heartfelt thank you to Sue for her continued hard work and support of many local charities and the local community. Merry Christmas!
