This week our GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition students were extremely lucky to have been able to work with some fantastic fresh mussels provided free by Offshore Shellfish. This amazing contribution could not have happened without the hard work of the Food Teachers Centre, M&J Seafood, the Fishmongers Company, Fowey Shellfish and others.
Pupils worked in groups to create Thai Style Mussels and yoghurt flatbreads which looked fantastic. They will be looking into more about fish and seafood during the next topic and the mussels provided a fantastic introduction to working with their own fresh seafood. Mussels are a fantastic source of protein and are farmed in an extremely green and sustainable way by Offshore Shellfish. Many thanks once again for the opportunity.
