Covid – 19 Catch-up and the National Tutoring Programme
Coronavirus Catch-up Policy
National Tutoring Programme
Alongside the universal catch-up premium, the Government are launching a £350 million National Tutoring Programme (NTP) to provide additional support.
We plan to access money from this funding source to support pupils who are currently in most need of curriculum catch-up.
Initially this will be targeted at pupils in Year 10 Maths and English classes who are currently struggling to reach expected outcomes in relation to their target grades. The tutoring will be either onsite or online and be a 1:3 student ratio.
12 pupils have been identified in Year 10 Maths
12 pupils have been identified in Year 10 English
At least 10 of these pupils are considered disadvantaged.
Year 9 pupils will be able to access support through the NTP by withdrawn from the curriculum. After option choices have been made, pupils will be withdrawn from subjects which they have not selected to take at GCSE. This will allow us to support the core subjects of Maths, English and Science.
Year 7 pupils will be able to access support through the NTP after school. Again this will be in the ratio 1:3.
All tutors will be sourced from approved government agencies.
The initial plans will begin after the Easter holidays 2021.
