The Full Governing Board meets every term and each Committee also meets on a termly basis.
The Committees of Governors that we use at the school are as follows:
Chair: Mrs Sarah McKerney
Members: Father Barrett, Mrs Kitto, Mrs Clare, Mrs Jackson, Mrs Armstrong, Mrs Cooper
Purpose:
To monitor and evaluate the quality of education, standards, and pupil achievement across the school.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor pupil progress against school targets, including key pupil groups.
- Review school performance data (ASP, FFT, Lancashire SIP).
- Oversee the impact of curriculum planning and policies.
- Monitor progress against the School Improvement Plan and Ofsted actions.
- Receive reports on teaching, learning, SEND, inclusion, and pastoral provision.
- Review the school’s self-evaluation and ensure alignment with the school’s Catholic ethos.
- Report regularly to the full governing body.
- Ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010.

To oversee the school’s financial management, staffing, premises, and health and safety arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
Finance:
- Ensure effective and lawful use of financial resources.
- Recommend an annual balanced budget and monitor income and expenditure.
- Oversee compliance with the Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS).
- Review financial policies and audit findings.
- Monitor use of Pupil Premium and other specific grants.
- Advise the governing body on financial planning and reserves.
Staffing:
- Review and recommend staffing structure annually.
- Oversee recruitment and ensure safer recruitment procedures.
- Monitor performance management and staff development.
- Ensure compliance with pay and employment legislation.
Premises, Health & Safety:
- Oversee maintenance, repair, and development of the school premises.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and policies.
- Monitor risk assessments, fire drills, and accident reports.
- Advise on the use of school premises and related charging policies.
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all.
All committees act on behalf of the Governing Body and report back through formal minutes and updates.
